  • Q. Can I use my towel rail in the summer without having to worry about turning on my whole central heating system?

Yes, as well as electric only models Towelrails2go products can also come as dual energy models. This comes with an electric heater kit, so in the summer when your heating is switched off, the electric element is used to heat the unit, allowing you to enjoy the comfort and convenience of warm, dry towels.

  • Q. Do I need to worry about dezincification?

This happens very rarely under certain water conditions in certain areas of the country. If you are in any doubt, please ask your installer if this applies to your region and, if it does, you can order a Towelrails2go towel warmer or designer radiator manufactured from dezinc resistant brass (DZR).

  • Q. What does BTU Mean?

Btu stands for British Thermal Units and is measured per hour, hence Btu/hr. In easy terms, the higher the number, the more heat the rail will produce. If you have a large bathroom and you want to heat the room as well as your towels, then you should go for a rail with a high Btu/hr rating.

  • Q. What if I don’t have central heating?

The vast majority of the Towelrails2go towel rail range can also be supplied as sealed-electric units. The same quality and craftsmanship goes into your product, but instead of fitting it to a heating system, it is merely wired into your mains. Always consult an electrician to ensure that the installation meets the required standards

  • Q. What if I don’t know the heat requirement?

You can use our on-line BTU calculator. However, it is still recommended to have the heat requirement calculated by your installer.

  • Q. What is a dual use Towel Radiator?

A dual use towel radiator is one that is powered by an electric element but also connected to the central heating system too. The main logic of having a dual use is to be able to use the towel radiator in summer when the central heating is off

  • Q. What system do I need for a towel rail?

    Towel rails can be
    - connected to Central Heating System,
    - Used only with Electric Heating Elements, or
    - used with both methods at the same time (Dual Use).

  • Q. Will a towel rail also heat the room?

It all depends on the model of your choice. The higher the Btu/hr the more heat will be given off into the room. Please Note, if the unit is covered with wet towels, the heat will be absorbed to dry them, therefore less heat will go into the room.

  • Q. Will my towel rail come with all the fixings I need?

Yes all our towel rails will have all fixings, screws etc. You can find your fixings inside the box along side with your heated towel rail.
